What is confirmed as of October 2026

The scheduled release date is 19 November 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In its February 2026 earnings update, Take-Two said the game "remains on track" for that date, and nothing official since then has changed it.

The date has moved before, which is worth remembering when you read any new claim. The game was first announced for Fall 2025, then moved to 26 May 2026, and then to 19 November 2026. A pre-order is not a promise that the date can never shift again; it is a reservation at today's terms.

  • If your home relies on mobile data, check your plan's limits before launch week.
  • Consider downloading at a friend's place, a workplace or another location with a stable wired or Wi-Fi connection, then bring the console home.
  • Schedule downloads overnight, when local networks tend to be less busy.
  • Keep the console updated in advance so system patches do not compete with the game download.

If a download stalls, pausing and resuming it from the console's download queue is usually safer than deleting and restarting it. Large releases often receive updates soon after launch, so leave room in your data allowance for an update after the main download finishes, even though Rockstar has not announced one.
